I haven't posted my fun finds for awhile...and I've had a few this week! When I haven't been up to my neck in business taxes, I've hit a few thrift stores, garage sales, a great antique sale, and some wonderful online buys! This week in the Twin Cities is the wonderful A Gathering of Friends Antique Sale . They always feature wonderful items and top quality dealers! I purchased a couple of old chromolithographs- a fabulous 1895 Paul de Longpre yard long- "A Study In Roses", and a beautiful strawberries still life.
I also bought old games- a child's indoor horseshoe game, lotto, and bingo- great graphics on all!
I also bought some vintage wood letters and some blank vintage Sunday School record cards on a ring- just fun vintage stuff.
At thrift stores, I found a hand tooled baby album,
a great old tennis racket,
some fun old books
one was made just for me...
until I saw this chapter...
I hit the mother lode in one shop with 40 packs of vintage seam bindings and rick rack- all in different tones of blues and browns...that was FUN!
I also made an ebay purchase this week- a rare, wonderful old print block for making Bingo cards! It is very heavy, probably close to 5 pounds, and so decorative with copper plating and removable numbers. It's missing one, but as a bingo collector myself, this great industrial looking piece is staying with me. I probably have some of the vintage cards printed with this piece!
Also, look what arrived in the mail today!
I bought this wonderful Shop Chic tote from Creative Carmelina . She has a fun etsy shop and I couldn't resist this cute tote that she designed, silk screened and sewed, and she even crocheted the little doily. This is going to be my new treasure hunting tote! I'm sure you have visited Carmelina before, but if not, say hi from me!
Until next time...
Linda
