More Fun Finds and Blogging Friends...

I had a lot of fun going to garage sales and thrift stores today! My favorite find was this graphic coffee cup rack~ I love how it looks against the red shutters~ and it's nice to have coffee cups right at hand, too!
Most of our finds this week were for our upcoming antique sales~ we found quite a few great old wood crates and boxes that will be used in displays...
I love this rustic old crate with an Ohio name ...
Look at the charming vintage chippy metal pieces~ I want to use them as part of a BIG clock face...
I thought this set of vintage paint by numbers were colorful and fun...the elderly woman I purchased them from told me she painted them herself many years ago! I love knowing the history of a piece!
I also found these vintage French books...
some souvenir spoons...
and some lovely old spindles on which I'll wrap vintage ribbon or lace...
Also today I received a WONDERFUL purchase from Julie of junkinjulie ! Look at these awesome, huge, rustic galvanized funnels! I am planning to do some projects with these~ my daughter wanted to take them and turn them into hanging light fixtures, so we'll see how they end up!
Julie is the sweetest blogging friend~ she sent me these wonderful goodies, too! I just LOVE them all~ THANK YOU, Julie!
Earlier this month, I attended the Junkmarket /Art and Architecture Show in Minneapolis! It was full of wonderful junk creations, vintage, and antiques and it was fun to meet some of the Junkmarket contributors there. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera (still can't believe I did that...) but my daughter snapped this one with Kathy of Sylvias Vintage Daughter and Janis of junkdreams and me. It was SO nice to meet these sweet women whose blogs I enjoy!

Hi Linda! Great finds...I love the wooden crates. Are they the kind that holds old record albums? I would love to find some of those for my hubby's collection, right now they are just sitting on the floor. The spindles are great too, I haven't been able to find those here in Vegas yet. Love your daughter's idea with the funnels, they would look great as lights! Have a great weekend, I am so looking forward to a few days off! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Linda. Your coffee sign is delightful. You KNOW how I feel about my coffee :) All your other great finds are super, too!

Linda I love everything, don't really know which is my favorite find. The crates are super cool, those are hard to find, we found one and have it outside by our firepit for a table. The spoons, very cool, and the coffee sign does look fantastic against the red shutters...and so useful. Thanks for joining in on the party. Have a wonderful, safe Holiday weekend.
ReplyDeletegreat stuff again! The funnels-turned lights would probably be a great hit-they're the rage now! I loved how you put the white rub-ons on a chalkboard-I'm storing that idea!

Some really great finds there!! I love the wooden crates! Such great displays. The coffee sign is wonderful I would love one like that. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteLinda, look at all those goodies. Love the old crates. I have been noticing a lot of those old spools at all different prices. One booth had big ones for only $3 each and I wish I had bought them. He said he had about 60 more at home so hopefully he will bring them to the store. I went to a booth yesterday at a different flea market and they wanted $12 and up each. Not paying that much. Hope your weekend is great!
ReplyDeleteI love the paint by numbers! I've heard that in the US they are actually auctioned! I keep my eyes out here, but I think most of them end up in the tip! Great idea for the funnels...I think I have acouple hanging around the place...hmmm
ReplyDeleteooh we just put hooks in our kitchen for cups 2 nights ago and they are so functional. We love them too. Nice finds x
