Late Fall at the Lake...and a Winner!
Saturday, October 23, 2010
I spent the last couple of days down at our family lakehome, getting things ready for winter! The boat is in storage, the heavy lift is in, and the dock sections are stacked...
There is still a little color...
and touches of fall amongst the dry leaves...Brown Eyed Susans...
Chinese Lanterns...
and lovely Asters!
But there are mostly bare branches here now...
and LOTS of leaves on the ground...
Here's what I raked just from our small front yard...
It's beautiful at the lake whatever the season...
Also today...I am announcing the winner of my blogversary giveaway! Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and good wishes~ YOU ARE THE BEST!
The winner is... #60~ Karen of Bling Queen !! Thanks for entering the giveaway, Karen~ hope you enjoy the goodies!
Until next time...

P.S. Still so bummed that we didn't get out of our booth to connect with you at Junk Bonanza - what a crazy few days that was. Next year we'll find a moment to chat - for sure!
Looks wonderful. I love that wheel barrel from you last post, just perfect! Lezlee
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have a lake house! It is my dream someday. I spent summer vacations at my Aunt's Lake house, I loved it!! Congrats to your winner!

Congratulations to Karen! Love the fall lake house photos. Makes me want to jump in those pile of leaves! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's always a little bittersweet saying good bye to summer! Our summer up north was short this year, so it felt like we had just got summer out when we had to pack it all away again! Thanks for visiting my blog:-)

Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful pictures-wow!!! And I wanted to tell you that I have the dreams about the houses too!!! And the rooms just keep on going and they're gorgeous...I've had the same 2 dreams for years (they're at 2 different houses.) I thought it meant the same thing you said!!!
XO
Congratulations to the lucky winner,-

Karen you lucky girl! These photos are fantastic! I can't believe the leaves...WOW. We don't have that problem here in FL. I loved seeing the black eyed susans even if they are withering away. I grew up in Maryland and they were the state flower. Thank you so much for putting my little impromptu giveaway in your sidebar. You've been such a great blog friend, Linda.
ReplyDeleteRats! I mean Congrats Karen:) Right there with you on the leaves, but they come from my neighbor's massive oak, seems unfair somehow?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of work. However, like you said no matter what the season, still so pretty. Wait til you see what my yard looks like in a couple of weeks. COngrats to the winner.
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Karen, what a lucky girl. That prize was amazing! How did I miss out on that one??:( Been so busy with classes & kids. Your lake home is just an absolute dream Linda! Someday I would love to have a place like that to take my kids & make wonderful memories. It looks beautiful in the fall, that is of course my favorite time of year. I am nuts over the little cart you showed on the porch in the previous post. You always have the cutest stuff. Haven't shopped the blog shop in awhile, I think I need to go see what treasures you have. Did I tell you I put your shop on my resource list that I hand out at workshops? I think you have an amazing variety of great stuff. Lisa
PS I saw what you said on Annes post. That is the NICEST thing anyones every said about me.
What beautiful photos of the lake! It must be a little sad to close things up for the winter, but anticipation for the next year would be sweet.
ReplyDeleteHey Linda, we are lake people too! We kinda love it when we shut down for the winter. It gets quiet, still...
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your winner!
oh linda. what a gorgeous spot on the lake. it's kind of sad to close it down huh? i am heading to our cabin in missouri next week to clean really good for winter. have a great day.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Karen! I know she will love her treasures! Your photos are so pretty! I sure am going to miss all of my blooms. Love your aster and the Chinese Lanterns.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Linda, every season has its beauty at your lake property. I've enjoyed seeing it over the past six months or so and observing the changes through your photos. Ann
ReplyDeleteIt looks so serene Linda. I would think this would be one of the most beautiful times of year at a Lake. THanks for sharing the wonderful pix.

Linda,
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful. And the water looks like glass.
In PA, we have not lost many leaves yet, and most of them are green. This is highly unusual for the end of October!
Although bitterweet to pack things up, I'm sure it's a good feeling to have everything snugged away for the winter!
Beautiful photos Linda. It's always a little sad to see everything all put away for the winter isn't it? We'll be putting our kayaks up soon.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winner!
Kat :)
Sounds like a busy weekend. I have a hard enough time keeping up with one house, let alone two.
