Fun Finds and a Gift From a Friend...
Friday, December 3, 2010
I went out to a thrift store yesterday and had some fun finds! I love this great old scale~ the dial is so graphic...
This Italian Florentine box is a beauty... wouldn't it be lovely with Christmas pretties inside?
I always love finding old books...
especially finding my favorite~ a white book with a beautiful cover...
This aqua covered book was pretty...
but I really wanted it for the beautiful end papers~ it's hard to tell from the photos, but they are a golden metallic print, fun to scan for artwork...
Vintage seam bindings and trims are always fun...
But my find of the day was this beautiful antique Victorian silverplate castor/cruet set for $7.99!
I love the ornate work on the piece...
and the decoratively etched glassware...
You just never know what you'll find! And the same goes for the mail!! I received the sweetest gift from my friend Cindy Adkins , such unexpected fun! She made me this lovely blue crystal bracelet~ the stones sparkle like aurora borealis! If you haven't met Cindy, check out her wonderful blogs and her etsy shop full of goodies, too! You'll be glad you did!
