Signs of Spring...
Friday, May 13, 2011
Spring has sprung in Minnesota and everything is green and beginning to blossom! I thought I'd share a few signs of spring in our yard! I am taking Kim Klassen's Photoshop Elements class right now~ it's a fun class and I have really been learning a lot. I used it to practice with some photos this week! The photo above, is my first attempt at adding texture...it's not hugely noticeable, but I loved the look it gave the photo! My cherry tree is in bloom right now~ I love the delicate white blossoms...
I played with a little texture on this next photo as well as the hue saturation...
The groundcover periwinkles have burst into bloom...
and a nest is abandoned on the ground...
Hostas are coming up everywhere...
May is one of my favorite months of the year... how about you?
I am joining A Rosy's Note's Photo Feature Friday
Until next time...
Linda

Beautiful shots Linda! Glad Spring has arrived there...enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love those first signs of spring. We took the mulch off the flower gardens yesterday and I was amazed at how much my sedum, hen & chicks, lilies etc have multiplied already.
ReplyDelete'hugs from afar'
Beautiful shots around your garden! Love the birdhouse, and your texture looks great! Glad you are enjoying Kim's class, she really is an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love spring too - it is already here in the South, my hosta's are already thigh high!! I am your newest follower!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Your greenery and blossoms are lovely, the greenery is just beginning and the buds are a ways off still here in Manitoba just a bit north west of you.
ReplyDeleteI love the new growth that happens in May, the anticipation, but despise the rain!
Hugs, Cindy
I noticed the texture on your first photo... right away! Fun that you're taking a class. Our trees are in bloom and shoots coming up everywhere. Ahhh... May is my favorite month too.

ReplyDeleteHmm, I think it's a toss up between May and October. Our winters are pretty mild here compared to other parts of the country, and after our long hot summer, I'm ready for the cooler weather.
How fun, your blog will just get better and better with all you are learning. Lezlee
