Last week was rainy here, so there weren't many sales. But I did find one estate sale and found a few little things! I fell in love with this petite basket from Italy...only four inches across and a couple of inches high, it is adorned with sweet little birds and berries. I'm trying to think of a fun way to use this...any ideas?
I also found some pretty linens...
a cutwork linen runner with a beautiful shade of aqua stitching...
a lovely French lace mat...
and a charming vintage pot holder!
Not a lot of finds this week...but they were good ones! This week there are a couple of large neighborhood-wide sales and the weather should be great...can't wait!
If you haven't entered the NOVICA GIVEAWAY I'm hosting right now, be sure to stop by! It ends Friday!
I'll be joining Debra for the Marketplace at Common Ground
Until next time...
I love your finds, that little basket is really unusual. Do you think a small candle would fit in it? Sure you will come up with a fun idea. Love the linnens too, very pretty soft colours. Hope you have a lovely week, Pam xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful linens...love that blue! Maybe put some after dinner mints in your little ceramic basket? Oh my! Is your lakeside home ok?
ReplyDeleteCould you use it for a base of a tiny topiary....then the birdies would be around the base of a "tree".
ReplyDeleteVery sweet finds! The little basket and birds is adorable. Also love vintage crochet!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Of course I like the linens, especially that aqua pot holder!
ReplyDeleteSweet lovely finds ,dear Linda,-
ReplyDeletethe basket is so sweet, and the cut work, and french linnen are beautiful works!

I love that little basket, Linda. I know you will come up with the perfect way to use it! Ann
ReplyDeleteThat's an adorable little basket. No idea what you can use it for, but I'm sure you'll think of something fun. I love those crocheted pot holders. Somewhere on the big old internet I saw someone had made some new ones using those old patterns. Now I just need to learn to crochet and I'd be all set!
ReplyDeleteLinda love those linens and specialy the lace mat my mom has a few of those in her home in Portugal most of them vintage. Little family treasures. :)

Sweet little "candy" dish!! LOL!!! Of course you know that lines are my weakness!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Mom's day!
Warmly,

Ceekay had a great idea for the lovely basket. I love all bird objects. Linens too.
ReplyDeleteQuality not quantity. You sure found some sweet treasures Linda. Love the lace, and my first thought about the cute basket was a candy dish.
ReplyDeleteOh. The tiny basket is to die for!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe some fresh cherries in it this summer? Or spindles of thread? Buttons...so many fun things could go in there!

How pretty! I agree with Lynn - fresh cherries, for sure! Love that little pot holder and the runner and mat, too! xx
ReplyDeleteLove that little basket and all the pretty linens. I would lay a doily or a cute piece of coordinating fabric down in the basket and then fill it with some cute trinkets like the suggestions above; spindles or bobbins of thread, buttons, or possibly a little Fairy Garden. I recently purchased a 6 inch metal lattice tea cup and added coconut grass around the edges, filled it with dirt, then topped it with pretty rocks and flat blue glass pebbles (My Water) and added a fairy and trinkets. No live plants though, didn't want to have to water it and risk dirt and rust, although I love rusty things. It is sitting on a tray on my kitchen counter and I love it.
ReplyDeleteYour little fairy garden sounds so cute!
DeleteKaren already chose my idea. I bought a couple boxes of faux cherries on sale at Pottery Barn just yesterday for around $7 a box. I filled a few bowls with them (none as cute as yours) and they look pretty realistic. I wish I had picked up a few more boxes!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds again!
Well, I think your finds were lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou did really well I think! I covet that little bird basket. I have a similar one, without the birds...wanna trade? Ha! Kidding.
ReplyDeleteI stood in line, in the rain, a few weekends ago just to snatch up a McCoy Jardiniere that is very close to your linen aqua color. That's such a beautiful color!! That sale put me in the mood for more! Great week!
I love the potholder, Linda! Imagine all the work someone put into it! It's too pretty to use! And the little birdies are so sweet:) Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I am loving that little basket with the birds on it! I don't know if I'd actually use it in a particular way - it'd probably just end up in a vignette somehow.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! That little bird bowl would be cute made into one of those little pin cushions :)
ReplyDeleteHow about a tiny pot with a baby tears plant? That would look sweet with the little birds.
ReplyDeleteBliss
I have picked up a couple of those ceramic baskets off tables at an auction, they were just left,no ne wanted them i guess
ReplyDeleteI have had them for a few years ,they are pretty, and look good just sitting with some of my other treasures
