Today I'm going to share some fun finds, but first I want to say a BIG thank you to Susan over at Must Love Junk for inviting me over for Saturday Spotlight. If you missed it, I shared a little of my personal side. I had such a wonderful time, and I was overwhelmed by the sweet comments so many of you left there! You sure know how to make a girl feel the love! I cannot thank you enough! Blogging friends are wonderful!
Now for the fun finds...recently I got a text message from my son, who was shopping in a thrift store. He sent me a photo of three vintage cameras wondering if I wanted them! Hmmm...let me think about that (for a nanosecond)...what would you say? Uhhhh...YES. It's fun when you can thrift store shop from home...
I don't often find vintage cameras in the thrift stores anymore, so these are a fun treat! There were 2 Argus...one with a flash attachment, the other with a leather case,
and a Six 20 Brownie Junior.
I decided to take a few old winter photos from my stash and make a little vignette. I made some simple display holders with some large corks. I just wrapped some heavyweight, but flexible wire pieces twice around my index finger, cut the wire to the desired length and inserted the wire into the corks. You can just slide the photos in between the wire loops and adjust to balance.
Feel feel to grab the images below...
you can print them on cardstock to use for your projects...
Thanks to my son for thinking of his mom when he's out treasure hunting!
I am joining~
Until next time...
What a sweet son to think of you, Linda! Pretty amazing that he found three cameras for you. I love how you've displayed them with the old black and white pictures.

I'm baaack. Loved your guest post! I don't think I learned too much new about you, except that you did floral design? Nice.
ReplyDeleteWould love to be able to one day "meet" you in the flesh as well. Who knows.....it could happen..

How well he knows you!!!!!! Which of course he would!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful your display looks. Wouldn't those corks make good table place markers? Maybe even with photographs of guests/family rather than just a name?

Your son should get an award of some kind for best son ever! What a score! Also, it seems to taught him well. I'm so impressed he was out thrifiting! my poor hubby went to a single flea market with me one time and didn't last five minutes!
ReplyDeleteYour new treasures look so cheerful along with your pretty vintage photos. What a wonderful display.
Wow! I love your cameras and the Brownie Junior looks older than the one that I have, I would love to find one of those. I like your idea of the photo holder, I have pinned it in case I come across any large corks, I always have lots of black and white photos around my living room, they remind me of my roots.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Love those cameras and how you displayed them Linda! How great that you have your own "shopper" scouting things out for you! Hope you are surviving the rough weather this week! Ann
