Lately, I've been working out in the porch, getting it ready for summer visitors, family dinners, and naps...LOTS of naps. For several years, I have decorated it with red, white, and blue...which I love...but this year we wanted more of a neutral farmhouse style. One of the easiest ways to get the look, is using lots of pillow covers and shams that I have found out thrifting and garage sales. I found a few at IKEA, too.
Today, I found this wicker footstool at the thrift store...
While I love the fabric print, it isn't the neutral tone we are going for...
The wicker stool has a great look...I debated painting it, but decided I liked it as is...
At the next thrift store stop, I found this Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic pillow sham...
The cushion fit perfectly, giving me the look I wanted, without damaging the cushion...just in case I want to use the other fabric in the future...
It makes a great footstool, with a washable cover...and extra seating, too!
Thank you for all of your kind comments about the cabinet I shared in my last post...you are right...it was my find of the year!
I am joining~
Until next time...
Linda-What a perfect piece to find! It is in great condition and I love that the RA sham fit it so perfectly. AND I really like the fabric that came on it, too. GREAT find!!! xo Diana

I love it that you found both pieces at thrifts! No painting or sewing involved. LOVELY!
ReplyDeleteOh this is so pretty Linda! I'm thinking of using some old quilts or bedspreads on my couch to lighten up the look. I've been looking and looking. For some reason I didn't think about going to the thrift. (Hit me up the side of the head - you know I'm not myself now!). You have provided the inspiration I need for a new look, yet washable. I love that ottoman/footstool. Great idea! Ann
