Recently, I shared some charming vintage doll furniture I found at the thrift store. It was perfect in our guest room. Today, I thought I'd share the rest of the room with you! This room has had several uses in the past...it was my daughter's room, my studio for awhile, and now a small guest room. Decorated in a cottage style,
it also is a place to display some of my dog collectibles...
I've used several vintage dog prints to create
a small gallery wall as you enter the room...
Love this old tie and belt rack...
The room has built in shelving, and serves as a small library...
One of my favorite old tole trays...
The room has a light an airy feeling with Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic white linens on the bed, window, and covering the closet opening...
I actually planned the room around this beautiful large, old quilt. It was made by my great-grandmother and is very special to me. You can read a post I did about it several years ago HERE.
This was the perfect place to use some of my vintage pillows, too!
I used a fun vintage painting and print, as well as stacked artist cases...
The ledge near the window holds some of my goodies...
Hope you enjoyed the tour...before I go...

What a lovely room...I adore all of the doggie stuff. The way you have styled your bookcase wall is perfect, I love seeing actual books in a bookcase along with decorative items. :)

Linda what a fabulous room you've created. I love the gallery of dog photos and the little black and white dog on the shelves is oh so adorable. The whole room has a wonderful cozy, vintage feel. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have incorporated your favorite things into this room. The hanging quilt reminds me of an article I just read in the current issue of Country Living magazine about different ways to display quilts. They hung one as you did but over a bed as a headboard. Enjoying your blog,
ReplyDeleteCheryl
Your gust room looks lovely. Congrats to Diane - isn't' she a peach?
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI love every inch of this room. You did an amazing job decorating. Love the book shelves and love the Shabby Chic white bedding and drapes. I have those drapes in my bedroom and love the light and airy feel they give and the natural light they let in the room. Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteLinda, I had one of my Japanese students tell me he is in Minn. he is in the country, not city and is worried about the winter. Working at a University.
