This week I've been doing a little rearranging in our kitchen/dining area...all because of a new blender. I wanted to make space on the counter, as it will be used daily, so I decided to move some of my large glass canister jars.
I've been using this vintage wood topped typewriter table in our dining area...
Moving the table into the kitchen would provide extra storage.
The wood top has a great patina...
There is an open space on the lower part of the cart that was perfect for a shelf. Using a scrap piece of our flooring, which fit perfectly through the legs, I painted it with colors to match the top, then distressed and waxed it.
The shelf became a perfect place to keep a few cookbooks
that I had been wanting to put out...
I re-used the vintage scale and three of my canisters on the top shelf. The cabinet and drawer off to the side hold items that aren't used frequently...
and the cart can be rolled away when necessary.
Back in the dining room...I brought in three vintage baskets.
They provide extra storage...
and I put the tote of bread boards back here, too. I flipped it around... I had done a different design on the other side...
You can read the post where I decorated the tote HERE
And where did the little pig end up? Over on my hutch...
You move one thing...well, you know how that goes...
Until next time...
I love all of those ideas and that little piggy is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat redo...love pieces that can go from one room to another!
ReplyDeleteLove how that little table looks and the scale in the middle of the jars is so cute! Yes once I start moving things around it goes on and on!
ReplyDeleteLinda love your jars, I also store my kitchen stuff in similar ones. :) Gosh that little pig is adorable!!!

Very nice Linda! Wish I had kept my little typewriter table! Sold it in my booth so all is not sad. It's wonderful for those cookbooks. Have a wonderful weekend! Best, Vicki
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how that goes! when our new range arrived in November, I wanted to clear off the counters...major fruit basket upset! but all is fine now and everything has a home....your changes are great and its always nice to have a change of view!
ReplyDeleteI sure do know how that goes! I love what you did. Looks so homey and cute. I use picnic baskets for storage too.

Lots of cute storage ideas. Thanks.

Ain't that the truth! It happens to me all the time when I move even the smallest item. Love your cart with the big jars and scale, and such a great place to store your cookbooks.
ReplyDeleteGosh I can really relate to this one! One thing can cause a flurry of changes everywhere. I love that little table holding your canisters. I like extra furniture being used in a kitchen. Keeps it more interesting.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks really
ReplyDeletesweet, Linda! I'm wondering
if you got a Vitamix? I love
mine and yes, keep it on
the counter for all those
healthy smoothies : )
Have a wonderful
weekend!

I'm in love with your sweet little pig. Is he a door stopper? Sometimes it's good to move things around. It changes the whole perspective.
ReplyDeleteYour little typewriter table is getting a good workout! I find my picnic baskets to be sort of dangerous. I can hide soooo much stuff in them!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely new look, Linda! Your little typewriter table looks so nice. It's the perfect place for your cookbooks, too. It's such fun to move just a few things around… for a whole new look! ♡
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteIt looks so sweet love all the change ups. That little piggy is adorable what a sweet treasure to have. I need a piggy like that!!! Happy Saturday.

I love what you have done! The little table looks so cute. Happy blending!
ReplyDeleteYour typewriter table is just perfect for extra storage in your kitchen! Each year the local hospital that we are affiliated with holds a silent auction for things they are getting rid of. There was a lovely green typewriter table that they removed from our clinic to auction off. Well, it somehow disappeared before the day of the auction, and when I inquired about it I was told that it was broken and disposed of. Hmmm, I smell a rat!! I love all the changes that you've made!
ReplyDeleteSome nice changes, Linda. I especially like the stacked baskets with the bread boards on top. And the large jars with black board labels are just awesome!
ReplyDeleteSuch charming accessories! I love how you stacked your vintage baskets. Yes, it's true about moving one thing... it's what we nesters do, isn't it?! :) Happy weekend! ~julie
ReplyDeleteI love all your little changes and the jars look wonderful with the chalkboard labels on them - especially with that cool sign behind them all!
ReplyDeleteLinda...you make me smile. I DO know what it's like to move one thing and before you know it...you have a new room! :)
ReplyDeleteThe typewriter table in your kitchen is great...functional and so cute. Adding the shelf was so smart. It's helpful with your canisters and they look displayed. I use flour so much and I keep it in a cabinet...I think it wouldn't matter if I added more clutter by putting it in a glass jar like yours. Were did you find these with the chalkboard label?
Thanks always for stopping by..your comments mean a lot! :)

I have been going through the same thing all weekend - rearranging stuff because of "one little thing"! I love how you repurposed the cart and even thought of adding a shelf for your cookbooks. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteYour clever changes look fantastic. I really need to get my self going and start putting my house back together now that I have Christmas all packed up and stored away. My house has just been sitting for two weeks, all bare and sad looking! LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your ideas! Looks so good!
ReplyDeleteYes one thing can start of quite a chain! Everything looks wonderful. That little pig always makes me smile :) Love your station poster too!
