Summertime...
I mentioned in an earlier post that we had been working on our sunporch. Today, I thought I'd share how I re-decorated the hutch in there with a little red, white, and blue!
It has been decorated in brown and white transferware,
but it is always fun to mix it up!
I started with lots of blue and white transferware and added a few red accents. My favorite way to decorate a hutch is to use color to bring about the feeling I'm looking for. Everything on this hutch is a thrift store or garage sale find, gathered over time. I often pick up one or two pieces of a pattern, rather than a whole set. It gives me lots to mix and match, and it's much easier to store.
It gives such a fresh summertime feeling to the sunporch! Have you added a little red, white, and blue, too?
Until next time...
Love the blue and white dishes! I like the addition of the flags too! I have never seen blue and white transferware but do love it!
ReplyDeleteYour blue and white transferware is beautiful! I love the big blue platter.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue and white dishes with splashes of red and the flag. Since I have a ton of blue/white dishes I might have to pull a few out, so thanks for the inspiration! I also amazed that it's only June 15 and you got your patriotic stuff out already!
ReplyDeletePicking the little cherry tin box as my favorite today.

OMG! That first photo, of the blue and white rose motif platter (or whatever)? That is the pattern of the odd mix of dishes I got at a consignment shop years ago in TX. And everyone has asked me where they could get them because they'd never seen them. Well, now I've finally seen one of the pieces somewhere else. You have it!
