With the start of September, fall decorating is happening in our home! I'm going to be joining a Fall Home Tour on September 15 over at Cozy Little House, so I'll be sharing with you then, but today I wanted to share one of the projects I've been working on lately to add a little fall to our decor!
I started out with this scrap piece of board...
and gave it a quick wash of Americana Canyon Orange paint...
I love this great vintage fruit crate label
and decided to use it for my sign.
You can see lots of fruit crate labels on Pinterest, and also there are great books full of royalty-free images on CD to use for projects...

Now, you could decoupage the label onto the board, but since this label is vintage, I decided instead to make it removable by using photo corners to hold it on the board. These are vintage corners I had, but you can buy new ones at any craft store. I used glue dots on the back of the corners to give them extra holding power.
It adds a colorful touch of fall...
I'll be sharing more fall projects soon!
Until next time...
Cute! I like the old fashioned looking advertisement.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I wonder if the temps feel like fall for you yet? Love your project! The old crate labels are always so pretty and colorful! I like the way you are able to use yours without damaging it. I do a lot of copying of vintage images instead of using the original for the same reason. What a nice touch for fall!
ReplyDeleteVery cute Linda. I look forward to the fall tour.

ReplyDeleteOrange is a favorite on the color wheel, so for me, this sign has a lot of appeal. Can't wait for another of your tours!

ReplyDeleteVery cute Linda! My kind of project right here. My fall decorating started in August lol. yes, and I live in the South. I just love the season so much.
ReplyDeleteThis is so charming Linda and there are so many possibilities with this project too. I like the added touch of the black corners. Where did you get such a thin, light piece of wood?
