A Simple Re-Purpose Project...

Time to share a simple re-purpose project!  I've always loved the look of dominoes and have used them in projects and decor.  
This time I want to use them as dominoes!


I found this big set of dominoes at the thrift store and thought it would be perfect to take to play at the lake.  But as you can see, the box has seen better days...


So I decided to use a wooden box from the thrift store...


It was originally from a child's science kit.


I tore out the broken wood interior pieces and sanded.


Then I went to work with paint...


I painted the box with the Lamp Black color, and used the Zinc mixed with a little of the black to draw in the squares.


And inspired by this...


I used a round foam dauber and Snow White paint...


to do this!


I coated the top of the box with DecoArt Media Ultra-Matte Varnish, to protect the decoration without shine.


The box holds the big double twelve set!




It would be fun to make artwork with this method, too!

    How cute! My first husband and I used to play dominoes. Haven't played in a long time and can't remember how now. But it was fun!
