One of my favorite spring decorating projects, is re-doing the hutch
in the sunporch! It always feels so good to lighten up!
This year I brought in lots of aqua and white.

This year I brought in lots of aqua and white.
I used a mix of vintage pieces and color variations.
Old books, tins, transferware, ironstone, bottles...
all come together harmoniously...
Most of the time I only have one piece of a pattern...
like these Homer Laughlin bluebirds.

Have you started to bring a little spring into your home yet?
Until next time...

So pretty! I love the shades of blue and white. Spring, yes!!
ReplyDeleteLove! Adore the antique books or ephemera and those blues!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely Linda! I love the aqua theme. Can you tell me a little more about Homer Laughlin? We were out somewhere and loved the plain heavyish white coffee mugs and saucers and it had that name on the bottom but I have yet to find any to purchase. Maybe they were for restaurant only? Also, I picked up some pussywillows at JoAnn's and love them by my fireplace. Not as pretty as your real ones but thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI hope to bring a bit of spring to the house this weekend. I have been gone for the last 2 or 3 weeks so I still have my St. Patrick's Day stuff up. Tomorrow is the day for it to Begone! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour sun room hutch is lovey with all the vintage dishes and shades of aqua. My sun room has been turned into a playroom temporarily. At least I hope it is temporary.

ReplyDeleteLooks so lovely, Linda! Love all of the vintage touches, especially the quilt. I am waiting very impatiently for spring weather to arrive here in NJ.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteLove all your pretty blue pieces, especially the blue birds. How cute! I pulled out all my pretty floral teacups and some bunnies. So happy Spring is here! Been outside working in flowerbeds.
So beautiful, Linda! My favorite color...and so perfect for spring! I am swooning over the Homer Laughlin bluebird pattern. I'm also spying a small white pitcher with blue flowers on it that really caught my eye...who is that made by?

Your hutch just makes me happy! It's simply beautiful! I love the way you have mixed and matched all of your blue and white china patterns, the well-worn lovely books, your pretty linens and that little cherub carrying the eggs is precious! I would love to see it in person. I'm always in admiration of such creativity.
ReplyDeleteI love the color theme, Linda!
ReplyDeleteThe bluebird piece is as precious
as you are, my friend. And your
eye for display is so keen -- I love
it!
xo Suzanne
I loved your hutch display. As I am a bird lover, I have been hard put NOT to buy bluebird dishes. Think my resolve just melted! I have an ever increasing collection of inexpensive china birds; some are music boxes and the robins are screaming to be put into a vignette! Winter in Maine is just TOO long and dreary. My friends give me a funny look when I say that I can't wait for mud season!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathy! Your collection sounds WONDERFUL!
DeleteSo, so pretty! You have some amazing pieces of transferware and I love the different blues. Refreshing and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
