Happy New Year! I just took a little break to spend time with family and to pause and refresh! I hope your holidays were wonderful! Our Christmas decor is mostly down now, but I always love to transition it into a winter decor
that still keeps that cozy feeling in the house!
We have had warm weather for January in Minnesota,
and little snow, but I know our snowiest months are yet to come.
And being the hibernator that I am, I enjoy celebrating the season!
We are at the lakehouse much of the time now and it is such a cozy home.
You can see how our Christmas decor has evolved for winter...
I made a quick freehand sign on paper to temporarily cover a Christmas sign...
This is one of my favorite old thrifted winter prints.
It works perfectly over the coat rack in the entryway...
I found this print for a dollar at the thrift store. I had already started painting over the dark blue frame when I thought to take the photo.
I painted the whole thing white and made a simple hand painted sign. You could use stickers or stencil it...such easy, inexpensive seasonal art!
This wreath was created using a tutorial from The Navage Patch!
It was so fun and easy to make, I made some as gifts, too!
Easy sticker art...
I've been picking up little wood houses when I see them at the
thrift store and painting over them...I was inspired by
Katie's Christmas cottages over at Let's Add Sprinkles.
We made several sets of birch candleholders as Christmas gifts this year...
Another old thrifted print. Thrift stores are great sources for inexpensive art...
Please Pin for later!
How have you cozied up for winter?
Until next time...
Beautiful decor and some good ideas too. Thanks.

So nice to hear from you, Liz! Thank you!
DeleteYour winter decor is beautiful, Linda! Love how you have incorporated winter prints, greenery, wooden elements, deer, snowflakes, etc. into your decor. It's a perfect transition from Christmas into January and February.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melanie! Embracing winter!
DeleteOh, I LOVE those thrifted prints, especially the last one you showed. I can see that I need to really check out the art at our local thrift stores. Usually when I go there I am only looking for frames.
ReplyDeleteMany lovely winter ideas in this post. Thanks so much for sharing! We live in New Hampshire and snow is on the way. I will be transitioning to winter decor this week, so can use these good ideas.
Thank you so much! I am hoping for some snow here soon, too! I am seeing grass again here with the warm temps!
DeleteI love all your cozy (and artistic!) touches......I am so jealous, I've always wanted a lake house. Well, it started out as my "beach" house but that's when we lived on the east coast. Since we've been in the midwest for 15 years and got to love Lake Michigan I changed my dream. Most recently my husband talked about some day buying a mountain retreat. So who knows? I love all your ideas. Happy New Year! xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out. I love your little cottages. I'm still loving mine. I love your thrifted winter art. Gorgeous. Your concrete deer is amazing. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Katie! I'm having fun looking for little cottages...I have a few more to paint, too!
DeleteI absolutely love that snow art print, what a find!! I keep checking my local thrift shop for art, but haven't found anything decent yet. Your winter decor is so cozy, Linda!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie! It's such a large print...after we hung the entryway coat rack I finally had the perfect place to use it!
DeleteEverything looks cozy indeed!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie! I need a good place to hibernate!
DeleteThese are great! I had mostly reds and white and had very little just winter stuff. I shopped small shop locals and was going to get some 1/2 Christmas stuff that would work for Winter, the manager wouldn't discount it because she said it was "winter." Of course, she was right, but it was on the same table as the winter and 1/2 price sign. Anyway, it all looks fabulous. I'm loving the Spring weather this week. I know it's just teasing us abit but so glad we have sunshine and not all the rain we've had for weeks.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Bonnie! Funny because I've been buying up some of that half price red and white stuff for next year!
DeleteLinda , I love all your cute decorating touches. The snowy pictures and little signs. Love the deer too. Blessings, stay warm. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteLinda I love all your winter decor. You are embracing the winter so sweetly in your home. Love the sweet deer too. Happy Friday and have a fabulous weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
Thank you, Kris! We haven't had much of a hard winter in the midwest, have we? I've hardly had to wear a coat!
DeleteI laughed when I came to the Brrr sign. We don't usually get much of a winter and if you missed my most recent post on Instagram, it was a basket with colorful flowers blooming in the garden. But, we are actually having a winter this year and I think I say Brrr three or four times a day.
ReplyDeleteI remember warm California winters...after I lived there for a few years, I was saying brrr and bundling up when it hit 50 degrees. Now I don't even wear a coat until it's under 20 degrees lol.
DeleteI love your Minnesota winter decor, Linda. You have similar weather to ours so I get it...cozy and comfy and pretty to boot! I LOVE that green Let It Snow sign. I came back to it twice...lol They are usually red and don't know that I've ever seen a green one--it is wintery rather than Christmasy to me.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a beautiful, wonderful 2019! xo Diana
Thank you, Diana! I loved the unusual green color on that, too...it is actually a serving platter! Wishing you a wonderful 2019, too!
DeleteYou have some wonderful treasures tucked around your house! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAlways love seeing your cozy and very creative decor, Linda! Love all the little deer and the sweet vintage prints. Your signs, the birch candles, wreath and little houses are so inspiring. Hope you have a cozy weekend. xx Karen
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen! We love it there...quickly becoming home!
