We are fully into spring (finally) in Minnesota! The trees are leafed out and everything is in bloom! I wanted to do a simple spring project
to take advantage of all the beauty outdoors right now!
I started out with a thrifted wooden wall bucket/basket. It has a flat back and bottom, so it can be hung on a door or wall, as well as set flat on a table as well.
But you could use any type of bucket or basket for this look.
A fresh spring green color seemed perfect for the project, so I mixed a couple of colors until it looked right, and gave the bucket a coat of paint.
Once it was painted, I looked for containers that would fit inside.
These three small jars fit perfectly! I filled them with water
and went outdoors to cut apple blossom branches and lilacs!
I love this bucket of spring pretties!
They are here for such a short time each year and I love having them indoors!
They smell so wonderful...
I did this arrangement asymmetrically, high to low...with the taller apple blossom branches sweeping down to draping lilacs.
Until next time...
I love this project! With my favourite colour combo, that green is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tricia! I love the colors, too!
DeleteLove this! I've painted other baskets, but I've never thought about painting a wood basket!
ReplyDeleteHappy day friend!

that is THE perfect color for the basket! it wouldn't look the same in any other color. Love how you've styled the lovely flowers. just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLinda this is great. With my MS and rain I didn't get my lilacs in the house Bummed but mine bloom two more times. Bought them in the fall

Thank you, Cindy! They are here so briefly...So nice your variety has multiple blooms!
DeleteAdorable and so easy!!! Now if only my lilacs would bloom!!
ReplyDeleteSimple and beautiful - and smells so good! Wish there was blogsmellavision or something like that haha ♥
ReplyDeleteI just love it, Linda---from the color of the basket to the beautiful arrangement you put together. I can't believe that you are that far ahead of us in MN. I always think of you as being as cold as, or colder, than we are here in WI. Our lilacs are still a ways away and nothing is really growing yet--although our trees are finally leafing out. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI think it is crazy that we are less than 2 hours away and our lilacs can be so far behind yours!
ReplyDeleteLinda I absolutely love the cheerful colors in your Springtime project. It’s so creative and fresh looking. And I’m always on the lookout for a basket with a flat back but they’re hard to find around here!
