Cozy Early Fall Home Decor

Last week was so incredibly hot and humid here with some big storms! 

Once they passed we had a big cool down with fresh dry air moving in!  

It felt SO good and made me think of cozy fall days to come!

just sharing a little cozy early fall decor inspiration)

Even though it is still summer, days like these make me nest a little.

I think the mind is aware of the little daily changes as we head into August...

I like to get my cozy on!  Candles and spiced citrus hot tea are so nice...

and I love wool plaid blankets!  Recently I received two beautiful Norcross Wool Blankets from Wayfair's selection of Blankets And Throws.

They are made by Poyet Motte, an old French company.  Woven with a soft wool/acrylic blend, they are washable! You just use the gentle cold cycle and line dry. I love having the zip off cover to protect them in the off season.

They have several colors. I chose the gray...

and the yellow.   Blue and berry are also available.

 They work perfectly with our lakeside cottage decor!

I love our cozy bedroom under the eaves.  This blanket will add 

wonderful warmth as the nights begin to cool.

 And the vintage looking patterns are beautiful with their 
colorful accent stripes! Here the soft grays and off white are a perfect 
backdrop to the yellow and burgundy stripes.

This tiny gallery wall features an 1880's Norwegian sailing print, a rosemaled Norwegian prayer, and an old map of Norway...a nod to our Norwegian ancestors.

 Sophie loves to cuddle up in her blanket here, too.

The yellow blanket is so pretty in our living room.  The golden yellow with off white, brown, gray, and green accent stripe is perfect in this room. It could be thrown on the couch or chair.  I chose twin size blankets so they would be the perfect size for throwing over a bed, or napping in the living room! 

I'm looking forward to using these blankets for many years!
