If you've been following me for awhile, you know I love re-using thrift store finds! This week I had fun re-using a lamp I found recently!
I am joining my fellow Thrifty Chicks for our monthly re-use/makeover challenge! This month it is Light.
I
When I spotted this lamp in the thrift store,
I knew it was just what I was looking for.
And the price was right.
Even though I don't need a lamp, I often pick up a lamp like this
for its materials...such a big chunk of wood!
I removed the nut and wires at the base, and took it apart.
In the past I have taken pieces like this, simply painted them white,
and used them as a mantel ornament.
I have also cut them up, which is what I'll do with this piece.
Viking Man made two cuts on his miter chop saw...and here are the pieces I had left. I have plans for all of them, but today I am using the two decorative pieces.
I painted them a light gray color...
These could be used in many ways...I have used them with flameless candleholders, for displaying figurines...so many ways. For this project, I used them for a Christmas decoration. I found this little wire sleigh for 99 cents at the thrift store, and bought it, to use the bells.
I gave them a light coat of red paint...
and tied them with rustic twine around each pedestal.
Since these already had a hole running through from the lamp rod, I thought why not use it to hold an evergreen branch?
Now they are being used to decorate one of our guestrooms...

Super clever and creative, Linda! And I love the price of your score. Our thrift stores are completely overpriced. Enjoy your trees!
