If you have hopped over from The Crowned Goat welcome!
I know you enjoyed her bookshelf styling hints!

I am going to share a very simple spring vignette with old books and other ways I have used old books in my past spring decor, as well! I started my simple vignette with a vintage silverplate tray.

Other elements are old books...I chose green for spring!
I especially love to decorate for the seasons with different book colors!

Old white books are some of my favorites!

  5. You have such a great collection of books, Linda! I love the way you use them in creative vignettes too. I usually hate surprises but finding an old library card or someones notes in an old book is always such a special treat. I hope you have fabulous Mother' Day weekend! Hugs, CoCo

  7. I just became a new subscriber ... anyone who has such an interesting and beautiful collection of old books has got to have some more things I like too. Thanks for the lovely post! That silver tray with the green - perfection!

  8. So pretty. My old books are behind the closed door of my desk because of my allergies. Wish I could use them more in decorating. xo Laura

  9. Each vignette that you shared is so pretty. You have so many vintage books with such a variety of covers. I've never thought to display a book in a gravy boat. I love that idea! This is such a fun series and I'm enjoying all of the posts so much.

  10. Hi Linda, I'm visiting from Sweet Pea.

YAY! You actually scan the inside papers, instead of destroying your beautiful old books! I love your close up photos of those charming vintage books as well. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Hey Linda! I just adore your collection of old books! And how you styled your tray is simply gorgeous - you combined the colors and textures beautifully! So happy to be on this super-fun hop with you!

  13. Oh my golly, your books have the most beautiful colors! I would have never thought to scan the inside patterns but it's genius. My favorite photo and look of all is the book inside the white stoneware. I'm going to have to copy that. I know the perfect book and the perfect gravy boat. Thank you so much for joining in. Grinned and Pinned!

  14. I love how you styled it all using those old books. I LOVE old books, too. There is just a beauty in a well-worn book. Love the white/green creamer, too. I just looked again and think it is a gravy boat rather than a creamer. lol
I hope you have had a wonderful Mother's Day- xo Diana

  15. This is so pretty, Linda. I love the simplicity of the books and tray vignette, and the green works so well with the patina of the tray. Your tabletop, btw, is amazing! Thank you for sharing the scanning tip - that's such a brilliant idea :-)

  16. Your vignette is lovely. Really envy you your old book collection! I love your idea of scanning them for the designs; I'd be card making, dollhouse accessory making, mixed media art making, etc. with those!
