DIY A Simple Farmhouse Lazy Susan

as we continue with packing and projects! Today I am joining the Thrifty Chicks 

for our monthly makeover challenge...this month it is Cutting Boards!

I was happy to be able to re-use a couple of boards I had found at thrift stores in the past!
I am using a small square cutting board and a larger rectangular board.
But this project could be done with just one board, too...and whatever shape you have.

I decided that these would make a great lazy susan!

 Often they are round, but this one will be just a little more rectangular, than square.

I really like the look of the natural wood for our decor, but I wanted to dress it up a little bit! I used this French Postage Stamp Stencil from Etsy to give it a bit of a farmhouse look.

I love the look!

I didn't distress it, as I wanted it to wear naturally over time.

Next I added a 4" Lazy Susan Turntable to the underside of the larger piece.

I measured for the center and marked through the bottom metal piece where the screws would go. 

I made pilot holes on the marks where the screws go, and screwed the base on.

That's all it takes to make it a single board lazy Susan, but I wanted to use the smaller cutting board to elevate it.  It would be hard to go through the base of the thick small cutting board to reach the hardware, so I simply glued the other section of the lazy susan hardware to the small base (the section of the metal not directly attached to the larger board).

This was a fun and easy project that I know I will use in so many ways!
