Hi Friends!
Hoping you are doing well and are able to get outdoors into some beautiful spring weather!
It seems like it has gone right into summer here with humid days in the 80s. Several years ago I planted a white lilac, but it has never bloomed. This year, as we are bringing our move to a close...I guess, as a little farewell, it has bloomed! I thought I would share its beauty with you!

The blossoms are such a beautiful pure white color!
It is a Common White Lilac, if you are wondering what the variety is...
I love the way they look displayed in old bottles!
Some of you have asked about the garden table in the background. I found the iron frame at a garage sale many years ago, and topped it with an old cedar gate found at another garage sale. I'm looking forward to using it at the lakehouse!
Love the lettering on the old bottles...
Aren't they beautiful? I have a third variety that is getting ready to bloom soon! I can't wait!
Until next time...

Hi Linda, I love the lilacs in those bottles. Maybe you could dig up some of the little starts around the lilac bust to take to the lake. I have two purple lilacs that I got the starts from my mom's yard. I have to give my daughter and her son some starts soon. My daughter had one, but I think her hubby just kept mowing too close to it. :( Seeing your treasure you made the table from, makes me long to go to yard sales. I miss those days.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and your family, xoxo, Susie
Oh Linda how beautiful. I have never seen white lilacs. They are gorgeous. Love them in your old bottles.

Just read above and such a great idea. Would it work for the lake. I look forward to sharing your laje home with you.
ReplyDeleteOur lilacs looked like they were going to give us big show. The blooms were tiny.
We planted it last year. I was told better and better. Next spring should be the year. Let's hope.

Love your collection of old bottles, Linda. I haven't seen many white lilac bushes close to us. I definitely have lilacs on my list of flowering bushes to add. Love the old married garden table, it will be perfect for the lakehouse.
ReplyDeleteThose lilacs are gorgeous in those glass bottles!!! I too, didn't know they made white lilacs!
ReplyDeleteI am not happy at all with my purple lilacs here, I think they may just be getting too old to put out pretty flowers anymore. I get five or six good blooming stems per bush and the other ones are sort of puny looking.
Beautiful! I guess they are putting on a show for you saying farewell. Hope your move goes smoothly.

Lilacs are my favorite flowering bush and I will take them in any color I can get them. The white ones are just beautiful. xo Diana

I've never seen a white lilac bush before! I am loving these blooms, especially the way you've displayed them, Linda, absolutely gorgeous. I have two lilac bushes in the front yard and just adore their smell - I always bring some inside the house too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Katerina! I love the pure white color!
DeleteSuch lovely blooms, Linda! And those vintage jars are perfection! I’m going to definitely miss our lilacs when we move so I think I’ll take a few clippings to transplant!! Have a fabulous weekend and enjoy your pretty whites!
ReplyDeleteThank you...I want to do that, too!
